What makes this useful: A sourced EarnThread field guide written for creators turning attention into an owned business.

TikTok's Creator Rewards Program pays eligible creators for original videos over one minute long, based on qualified views and how well those videos perform. To join, you need to be at least 18, have 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, and be based in one of eight countries. TikTok doesn't publish a fixed rate per view, so you can't set or predict the price of your attention. An offer of your own works the other way round: you set the price, and the customer relationship stays with you.

Key takeaways

  • TikTok's Creator Rewards Program requires you to be 18+, with 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
  • As of November 2026 the program is open only to creators based in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil.
  • Eligible videos must be original, over one minute long and reach at least 1,000 For You feed views.
  • Rewards combine a Standard Reward based on qualified views with an Additional Reward tied to watch time, retention, completion and search value; TikTok doesn't publish a fixed rate.
  • A lead magnet or first offer of your own gives you a price you set and a customer relationship that doesn't depend on TikTok's rules.

Where you live matters twice

The country rule applies to you and to your audience. TikTok says you must be based in one of the eight countries and have an account registered there (opens in a new tab). If you're in Ireland, Canada, Australia or anywhere else off that list, you can't join for now.

It also says a qualified view must be from where the program is available (opens in a new tab). So a UK creator with a large audience in Ireland or India earns rewards on only part of their views.

Account rules that catch people out

How are Creator Rewards calculated?

TikTok's guide to finding Creator Rewards Program success (opens in a new tab) splits your total into two parts.

Standard Reward

This is the base payout. TikTok says it's calculated based on qualified views (opens in a new tab), and that the amount depends on audience metrics such as the regions your viewers come from and the language of your content.

Additional Reward

This is the quality part, added in Spring 2025 (opens in a new tab). It moves with average watch time, retention rate, completion rate and search value, and your videos need to be well-crafted, engaging and specialised to collect it. Together, the two rewards determine your RPM, which TikTok defines as average gross revenue per 1k qualified views (opens in a new tab).

What counts as a qualified view?

TikTok's qualified view rules (opens in a new tab), as of November 2026:

  • A watch time of at least five seconds
  • Views with an "I'm not interested" tap don't count
  • Several views from the same account count as one
  • Search views count when watched for at least 30 seconds
  • Views must come from one of the eight program countries
  • Fraudulent and paid views are excluded

What TikTok doesn't publish

TikTok's official pages don't give a fixed RPM or a rate per 1,000 views, so we're not quoting one. Any figure you see elsewhere is someone else's result, shaped by their viewers' countries, their language and their watch time.

Two practical points TikTok does state: withdrawals are typically processed within 72 hours (opens in a new tab), though banks may hold funds longer, and rewards may be taxable (opens in a new tab), with you responsible for your own obligations. Check with a local adviser on tax.

Creator Rewards vs your own offer: what actually pays?

Creator Rewards pays for attention on TikTok. When TikTok launched the program, it said the formula would also reward creators for ad value determined by their community's ad watchtime (opens in a new tab). Your own offer pays for a result someone wants. Here's how the two compare.

Creator Rewards ProgramYour own offer or lead magnet

Neither column is a promise of income. The point is control: one income depends on rules you don't set, and the other depends on whether you make something people buy.

Why run your own offer alongside Creator Rewards?

You don't have to choose. The program has already changed shape since it launched in March 2024 (opens in a new tab), including the Additional Reward added in Spring 2025. Building something you own alongside it means a rule change doesn't reset you to zero.

The two can also feed each other. TikTok rewards specialised content (opens in a new tab) that shows expertise in a niche, and it weighs search value. Videos like that are also the ones that convince a viewer you could help them with a template, a guide or a call.

If you're below the thresholds, or outside the eight countries, your own offer is the main route to earning from your audience now rather than later.

How to build a lead magnet or first offer alongside it

  1. 01
Start from the questions in your comments

The questions people ask under your best videos, and the ones they search for, tell you what they'd sign up for or pay to have solved.

  2. 02
Make a lead magnet that solves one small part

A checklist, template or short email course that delivers one clear result. Our guide to building a lead magnet that grows an owned audience covers the consent side.

  3. 03
    Choose one paid next step

Keep it small enough to ship this month. The first digital product selector helps you pick a format.

  4. 04
Send viewers there within TikTok's rules

Mention the free resource in videos where it fits, and check TikTok's current guidance before adding contact details to your profile.

  5. 05
    Turn viewers into subscribers

Plan the handover from post to signup, so a viewer who wants the free resource knows exactly where to get it.

A hypothetical example

_This is an illustration, not a forecast._ A UK creator posts 90-second budgeting explainers. The videos qualify for Creator Rewards, and the comments keep asking for "the spreadsheet". She offers it free in exchange for an email address, with a clear opt-in for further emails. A month later she releases a $15 pack of planning templates to that list.

On EarnThread's Launch plan, the platform fee on that sale is 5%, so 75 cents, before Stripe's processing fee. Whatever TikTok pays for the original video, the subscriber and the buyer are now hers to contact again.

What does it cost to sell your own offer?

Selling your own product has two cost lines: the payment processor's fee and the platform's. On EarnThread, payments go into your own Stripe account, and the plans are:

  • Launch: $0 a month, with a 5% platform fee on each sale
  • Growth: $19 a month with a 1% platform fee (14 days free)
  • Scale: $49 a month with a 0% platform fee (14 days free)

Growth is cheaper than Launch once you sell over $475 a month, and Scale is cheaper than Growth once you sell over $3,000 a month. Stripe's processing fee applies on every plan. See current plans at earnthread.com.

The short version

Creator Rewards pays you for views on TikTok's terms, in eight countries, at a rate TikTok doesn't publish. If you qualify, take it. But the email address of someone who found your video useful, and the first sale you make to them, are the parts nobody can change on you. Start free and publish a lead magnet that turns your best-performing video topic into your first subscribers.

Frequently asked questions

How many followers do you need for the TikTok Creator Rewards Program?

TikTok requires at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. You also need to be at least 18 with a Personal Account in good standing.

Is the TikTok Creator Rewards Program available in Ireland?

Not as of November 2026. TikTok lists the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil as the eligible countries.

How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?

TikTok doesn't publish a fixed rate. It describes RPM as average gross revenue per 1k qualified views, which depends on viewer regions, content language, watch time, retention, completion and search value.

What counts as a qualified view on TikTok?

A view of at least five seconds from an eligible country, counted once per account, excluding fraudulent, paid and "not interested" views. Search views count when watched for at least 30 seconds.

Can I sell my own products while in the Creator Rewards Program?

TikTok's program pages don't prohibit it, but sponsored content and ads don't earn rewards, and contact details in your profile can make your account ineligible. Check TikTok's current rules before promoting your offer.
